Harvest is an interconnected network of food security programs operating within Salt Spring Island Community Services. We grow, cook, preserve, distribute and recover food for our community. By managing multiple food security programs within one organization we can more efficiently ensure that healthy food goes where it’s needed most.

Harvest Farm
Our one acre organic farm provides seasonal produce for our Harvest Programs and vocational opportunities for our community.
Market Program
The Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program supports lower income families and seniors to shop at their local farmers market.
Kitchen Café
Specializing in seasonally fresh foods from our farm and serving delicious coffee, profits made from our café go back into our Harvest programs.
Food Bank
Running for over 15 years, the food bank on Salt Spring Island serves over 150 people every week.
Home Meals
Our Harvest Home Meals program delivers nutritious meals to seniors, every week, with subsidized payment options available.
Second Harvest
We reclaim and redistribute bruised and misshaped produce, keeping food from unnecessarily entering the waste stream.
